Efflo – Free ( Teddy Rose Remix)
Progressive House is finally making a comeback, and this writer could not be happier. While some of the heavy hitters like Swedish House Mafia, Alesso, and even Hardwell are nowhere to be found, the newcomers have got our backs. One of these up & comers is rising star Teddy Rose, and judging from his past couple of releases, he definitely has our back.
The San Diego native has once again produced a remix that just might be better than the source material. This doesn’t mean that Efflo’s ‘Free‘ is a bad track. It just means the added zest and positive energy Teddy Rose brings to this track is nothing short of spectacular. This is all done in a similar fashion to what Tiësto did with his remix of Angus and Julia Stone’s ‘Big Jet Plane‘. If it weren’t for the ubiquitous vocals, we might have thought this was a completely new song, to begin with.
The track starts off with a 4/4 kick & snare combo. After this we see the bass come rumbling in at 00:16 into the track. After a couple of more bars, the vocals come in at approximately 00:45. If you checked out the original, you can see for yourself how awesome this Teddy Rose remix has turned out. The vocals continue on and are paired with a riser which leads us to the drop.
At 1:30 the drop hits and it is amazing. The drop features an awesome arpeggio and a rather forgettable bass line. I don’t say forgettable in a bad way, it’s just that the melody itself is so overwhelming that it is all we can really focus on. I’ve listened to most of Teddy Rose’s releases, and I must say, this is definitely my favourite one. It will be interesting to see where things take Teddy, as his music just seems to keep on getting better and better. His remix of Efflo’s ‘Free’ is out now, and can be streamed below, enjoy!
