i_o – Fatal Error
By definition, a fatal error is “an error that causes a program to terminate without any warning or saving its state.” According to multiple sources, the cause of fatal errors are terribly difficult to determine. However, there are a few usual culprits, like invalid data or code accessed, an illegal instruction has been attempted. Or in this case, a minty new EPÂ from producer i_o has been released.
FATAL ERROR IS OUT NOW EVERYWHERE.

i_o has continuously released impressive music since December 2017 when he first appeared on our radar. While he has recently begun to show his face, the producer is still mysteriously unknown. He lets his music (and witty social media hacks) shape his public persona. However, with each EP and single we get from i_o it feels like we get to peer deeper and deeper into the hacker’s database and Fatal Error is no exception.
The first track, ‘Something’ begins with pulsating techno and transforms into progressive almost trance-like music about three minutes in. ‘permissions (Believe)’ the second track, is a relaxed version of i_o and shows his audience he isn’t one to be put in a genre box. Lastly, ‘Warehouse Use Only‘ is well, what the title says. This one is a grungy- warehouse-in-Berlin vibe.
Check out the entire EP below, along with his guest mix on Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy.
