As Avicii’s birthday approaches tomorrow, Hardwell took to social media today to pen a heartbreaking message to his fans. In what’s sure to be a stunning move, he took the tough decision of taking an indefinite touring hiatus. In what will be a haunting reminder of Avicii’s struggles, Hardwell is showing that he too feels the heavy weight of a 24/7 touring schedule.
The Dutch legend has been a mainstay in the world’s most iconic festivals but has called it quits to focus on what’s most important to him in life. The life of a DJ can be a truly draining experience as we’ve seen with others including Avicii. Hardwell will now focus his energy, love, and creativity to explore life’s other offerings and spend more quality time with friends and family. He cleared his schedule in order to be free from the strenuous due dates that DJs have and it seems the last few years may have taken a toll on him.
His touring schedule officially ended September 6th but he will still perform his All Ages show in the Ziggo Dome during Amsterdam Dance Event on October 18th.
Luckily for fans, Hardwell has promised to keep making music and stay connected with fans. Here’s to hoping Hardwell takes this opportunity to kick back and enjoy life.
