Happy Now – Zedd Ft. Elley Duhé (Duke & Jones Remix)
This past July saw Zedd absolutely smash the L.A. Historic for the Insomniac’s Zedd In The Park. He brought out numerous special guests including Ookay and Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers. He proceeded to smash the grassy dancefloor and even debuted a new track. The track in question was the Pop heavy ‘Happy Now‘ featuring Elley Duhé, which he officially released shortly after the event. Since then it quickly made the radio waves as many of his tracks have before.
This is where the official remixes come into play. The remixes are great as always, and they include five different edits from the likes Magnificence, Marc Benjamins, Beauz, and MXXWLL. The fifth and final remix of the pack is a dope one, as it comes from the Manchester-based duo of Duke & Jones.
Duke & Jones Remix
Known for their sound which has been dubbed as ‘Minimalistic Trap’, there is nothing minimalistic about it. Zedd had initially asked them to remix ‘Happy Now’ after having heard their independently-released track “Breathe.” Soon after this, they sent over their take on the track which Zedd has been playing heavily since.
The track starts off quick with Duhé’s gorgeous vocals and builds up to give us an epic first drop one minute in. The drop is unique, as there aren’t many artists making music like this. Upon hearing Duke & Jones other tracks, it is easy to see that they are establishing this as their sound.
The Duke & Jones remix of ‘Happy Now’ is out now on Interscope, and can be streamed below.
Duke & Jones will be playing their Debut UK show at
Ministry Of Sound London on September 29th with Zeds Dead & Rusko. Tickets can be found here.
