Ultra revealed very exciting news earlier this year when announcing that they were taking their iconic festival to China for Ultra Shanghai and Ultra Beijing. Fans from all over Asia swarmed on the tickets soon after the release dates were revealed. The two festivals were supposed to run for 2 days in back to back weekends in September. As the countdown to Ultra Shanghai continued to tick down, the official lineup was no where to be found leaving many fans concerned.
Now with just a bit over two weeks to go before Ultra Shanghai, it is reported that the festival has been cancelled. Ultra Beijing which was supposed to take place September 15th and 16th is reportedly being postponed yet again to another future date. The official cancellation announcement hasn’t hit the internet but keep an eye out for it in the coming days. It is said that the festival has encountered major unrevealed problems in China which has led to this outcome.
This past June, Ultra Beijing was set to occur with an impressive lineup including acts by The Chainsmokers, Afrojack, DJ Snake and many many more. The festival was then cancelled on short notice and some of the DJs that were set to perform at the festival made appearances in clubs in the local area. With Ultra Beijing being pushed back a second time, it is safe to assume that the issue at hand is much bigger than originally anticipated. Could this be the last time we see Ultra Music Festival in China?
Stay tuned as more details begin to unravel.
