There are few electronic bands in the world making waves the way that the Australian trio of RÜFÜS DU SOL are. Having performed not just one, but two epic headlining shows at Electric Forest this year, it is easy to see that RÜFÜS is on a roll. Despite a busy touring schedule, the Sydney-based group still manages to make the time to produce new music.
Last month saw RÜFÜS release the lead single off of their upcoming album ‘SOLACE‘, titled ‘No Place‘. The reaction from fans has exceeded expectations, as the single has already been streamed over 4.9 million times on Spotify alone. Today, RÜFÜS DU SOL reveals the official music video for their awe-inspiring track, ‘No Place’.
The video, directed by Alex George, takes place in two rather contrasting locations. These being an arid desert landscape, and the tranquil scene of a beach at sunset. The video reveals the imagery from their forthcoming album ‘Solace‘, and is said to be an audio-visual journey into the minds of RÜFÜS themselves.
The locations are the inspiration for the album ‘Solace‘, being that the group spent the last year in Venice, CA. It is easy to see that the change of scenery, and how the constant travel through the California Desert made a lasting impression on the Sydney trio.
The video features a set of extraordinary robes that enable its bearers to instantly teleport between both time and dimensions. Video Director Alex George possibly said it best, when he describes his feelings for the track:
“…Realizing out of all the infinite possibilities and places you could be, you are here. And it’s great.”
Having a chorus of “There’s no place I’d rather be, I feel myself with you”, its easy to understand where George is coming from.
The trio is embarking on an extensive North America tour later this year. Many of the tour dates have already sold out, including two consecutive nights in both Los Angeles, and New York City. The SOLACE North American Fall Tour will kick off October 24’th at ‘The Fillmore‘ in Charlotte, NC. Hopefully RÜFÜS is coming to a city near you, and if not, don’t worry as more dates are to be announced soon. Tickets can be purchased here, the remaining dates can be found below.
