With festival season in full bloom, New York City’s Governor’s Ball took place this past weekend on Randall’s Island. The festival featured some of the biggest acts in the world from various genres of music. One of the most interesting performances of the 3-day festival took place on Day 2. The performance featured the unlikely pair of Diplo and Mark Ronson. The pair took the stage as a new duo called “Silk City“.
Whether it be under Major Lazer or just his solo act, Diplo is well recognized for his explicit banger performances. On the other side, Mark Ronson is known for his disco-like tunes. As a result, the world didn’t know what to expect when the two announced their collaboration as Silk City. During the weeks leading up to their debut performance, Silk City gave us a possible taste of what their style of music could be by releasing their first track as duo called ‘Only Can Get Better‘. This was immediately followed by the release of an essential mix. The two stole the show as they played downtempo, chill vibes throughout their set.
