Meet Matt Tolfrey. The artist is the newest member of the iconic Southern California imprint, Desert Hearts, family – he released his EP on the label, Nothing Like Home, today.
The EP features two tracks, “Nothing Like Home” and “Fallen.” With a strong bassline and an absolute fusion of fun, the tracks mix layers of synths with eclectic percussion elements and an overall meet-me-on-the-dancefloor vibe. The tracks have received support from a slew of massive artists, including Audiojack, Joeski, Riva Starr, Mat.JOe, Sante, Josh Butler and more.
As label head and fellow producer Mikey Lion described:
“this Tolfrey EP might be one of my all-time favorite releases we have signed to the label. I have been a huge fan of Matt’s for nearly a decade, but it wasn’t until jozif introduced us during a very extended party session in Playa Del Carmen and I saved his life in Las Vegas, that we realized Matt’s totally on the same vibe as us.”
Tolfrey is no newcomer to the production game, either — he’s also released on world-renowned imprints including elrow, Crosstown Rebels, Culprit and Viva. We can only imagine that this list will continue to grow, and we’re stoked to see him join the ranks of so many stellar producers with the Desert Hearts crew.
