Instagram is the last story standing. Following the constant Snapchat user loss, many people are turning to Instagram for some redemption. Instagram has always been a widely shared favorite amongst users, and developers are hard at work on a new feature that may seem a little familiar.
If you have a Twitter account, you know and love the ‘quote tweet‘ feature. It allows for easy sharing and the ability to add your own personal flair to things you’re interested in with your followers. Instagram is following this trend and is confirmed to be testing out a rather similar feature for their stories.
However, this feature is not unheard of for Instagram. It has been available through unofficial and sometimes scammy apps that use your login information to allow access for ‘regramming’. The way it works is simple- you hold down a button on any public post, re-adjust, add quotes, formatting, imagery etc. with the creative tools. Once posted, your followers can then click on ‘see post’ in your story and will be taken to the original post. And for those who like their privacy, do not fret. There is an option to opt out of this feature in your settings.
This is HUGE for Instagrams already thriving market for influencers, celebrities, small businesses, and activists. This small feature can make a big change for the app’s social media power. As confirmed by Instagram, this is all currently being tested by a small handful of users. There is no confirmation as to when or if it will be made official, so stay tuned.
