Today is the start of one of the more unique events we pay attention to each year, The Winter X Games. The Winter X Games represent a perfect fusion between the world of sports and the world of music. Over the last several years, the X Games have consistently brought in top quality acts to pair with the high-energy action on the hill. In the last two years alone, they have hosted Bassnectar, Anderson Paak, The Chainsmokers, G-Eazy, deadmau5, Nas, Kygo, DJ Snake, Twenty One Pilots and Run the Jewels. This year, Martin Garrix, Method Man & Redman, LCD Soundsystem and Marshmello will be putting on special performances for those in attendance in Aspen, Colorado.
As for the main event, the first qualifying events of the X Games began earlier today, but for those of you interested in viewing from home, you’ll have to wait until 8pm MST to catch the first televised events. Martin Garrix will commence the music festivities tomorrow evening at 9:30pm MST, with Method Man & Redman followed by LCD Soundsystem on Saturday, and Marshmello on Sunday.
The X Games are always a unique event to watch even for non skiers & snowboarders. Throw in a nice variety of music and you’re good to go. For those of you lucky enough to attend, you can see the full music schedule below, and for those of us not there, the full TV schedule can be seen here, we can only hope someone in the crowd catches some quality video for us to watch later.
