KSHMR has become a staple name in the dance music community after a successful run this year. After launching his record label Dharma and releasing his Materia EP, he has been dominating the world with his audio visual performances. He claimed a 12th place spot on DJ Mags Top 100 DJs and made a huge musical milestone by collaborating with legendary Indian singer Sonu Nigam for his single ‘Underwater‘.
By fully immersing his persona, music and live performances in his Indian heritage, KSHMR has earned quickly gained the respect of the Indian EDM community. Since KSHMR started performing at India’s annual NYE Sunburn music festival, he has been responsible for creating the festival’s anthem. Just a few weeks before the festival he teased us with a sample of this year’s anthem ‘Shiva’.
The 40 second clip features Indian musical elements including a vocal sample in an Indian dialect fused with a psy-trance beat. The track resembles a Vini Vici song with a dash of Indian flare.
