Fresh off the heels of his enchanting and emotional remix of Coldplay’s “Yellow” last month, University of Southern California student Jack Dugan has taken the next step in his music career, releasing his first original single called “Till She’s Sober.”
Dugan enlisted singer/songwriter Noah Tauscher to lay down the lyrics and vocals, telling an all too familiar story of confusing chemistry with romance after a night of revelry. Dugan does a fantastic job pairing his unique style of future bass production with Tauscher’s vocals to create a powerful and emotional tune. Prior to his first original, Dugan had been hard at work perfecting his craft through numerous well-received remixes while a student at University of Miami. Not long after winning the remix competition for Steve James’ “Renaissance,” and releasing an incredibly interpretation of the Chainsmokers’ “Closer,” Dugan transferred to USC to finish his degree and pursue music.
Dugan’s first release shows a lot of promise for what this kid has to offer in the future, and we’re looking forward to hearing more. You can listen to “Till She’s Sober” on Soundcloud below.
