‘Wonderwall’ is a tune everyone knows when it comes on the radio – it’s catchy, and it’s positive. However, it turns out the former front man of Oasis, Liam Gallagher, isn’t so positive himself when it comes to DJs. DJs are another dislike added onto Gallagher’s list including: his brother, Noel, Americans, Mick Jagger, dancing, Ozzy Osborne, Dave Grohl, and many more. We’re thinking he may just have a distaste for legendary musicians.
Staying consistent with making sure his true feelings are known, Gallagher sat down with Huck Magazine, where he spilled his feelings regarding DJs. He said the music feels “bland”, and even threw a dig in at Calvin Harris, when the interviewer suggested DJs had become the “new rock stars”.
“Did they? Not in my world, they haven’t. What, Calvin fuckin’ Harris? The most boring fucking person? I’ll tell you what they’ve become: the new accountants.“
He continues on by saying that the DJ world is overtaken with “spineless careerists”, as opposed to the legendary rock stars who are typically seen falling out of clubs, too drunk to even stand, or running their mouths at whoever will listen.
So, what exactly does Liam Gallagher like? It turns out, surprisingly enough, that he’s a pretty big fan of himself. At the suggestion that he is perhaps the greatest living rock icon, he responds with, “Others have said it and I do believe they’re not fucking wrong.“
