Tiga Puts Light On Hardships Of Being A DJ And Playing A Great Set Every Time

Based out of Montreal, Canada, Tiga is well known for his contributions towards bringing the Tech and Underground sound to the country. Inspired by his early travels and adventures in Goa as a kid in the 80’s, Tiga has often manifested a philosophical side to him. The Canadian born DJ/producer has recently posted a strong and deep message via his Instagram account.

The long heartfelt status accompanying a solemn picture entails the flip-side of being a DJ. It also subtly conveys how the deceptive and taxing lifestyle can take a toll one’s live sets. In what begins like a slapstick admission quickly transitions into a confession not everyone is strong enough to make.

Tiga made the revelation on the back of what he considers a below par set and ended his message with “So yeah, sorry Rome. I love you but I just didn’t kill it tonight. Love t“. The man who got the Rave culture to Canada has been getting support and spurs from his fellow artists. Eric Prydz and Dubfire being two notable names.

As fans, we love and respect how Tiga poured his heart out in the gloomy yet truthful post and stand behind him during this relatively tough moment. This deep side to this lovely spirit only shows his profound love for music and his fans. Check out the post below.

Here's something nobody talks about; how about when you DONT kill it. How about when you are what is actually wrong with the party. Your programming is lazy, your decisions are Ill-informed, you vacillate between confidence and cluelessness. Your records sound slow. You can't maintain a connection. The center cannot hold. You summon up arrogance to bolster your position. THEY obviously don't get it. Those "people" out there. That unknowing primitive mass doesn't understand the levels: that I'm a tortured post-trance, deep-funk acid-tinged anti-techouse futurist pop-laced groove martyr and that even when my effort is minimal and my energy is anemic and my playlists are best compared to outsider art and my grasp of the situation is utterly compromised by my self-absorption—- they should still bow down to my REPUTATION and go crazy and scream and clap. But no. There are nights when they know something you don't. And just like that, for a few hours, the magic is gone. And that's ok- makes it all the more magical when it reappears in another city, on another night. So yeah, sorry Rome. I love you but I just didn't kill it tonight. Love t

Like my writing name suggests, I'm one who's soul is aroused by most sub genres of dance music especially Above & Beyond's. I'm no connoisseur but with the intensity my curiousness is fuelled by my inclinations, I might become one. If you walk across a house in Halifax, Canada that always has its bass up and a cool looking guy shuffling, that is probably my den ;)
