Ecstasy and many drugs are popular in the dance music world so it is not a surprise to us when we hear some of the stories that come along with them. But hearing about ecstasy being involved with plane pilots is absolutely shocking to anyone. Reports have surfaced of British airline EasyJet having to deal with exactly that issue with one of their pilots.
A French pilot flying for EasyJet was caught flying one of their planes after still feeling the effects of ecstasy, most likely from the night before. They listened in on a tapped phone conversation in which he told someone he was struggling to land the plane.
According to the Telegraph, the 49-year-old was recorded saying: “I had the sweats, I wasn’t feeling well. I was just doing any old thing as we came in for landing.”
He later admitted to taking other substances in the months before the flight but it’s not known if he was feeling the effects of those too during the flight. The airline has put the pilot on a 12 month suspension. You can read more about this story from The Telegraph here.
