Trance legend Paul van Dyk has been one of the most prolific producers and touring DJs in electronic music over the past two decades. With millions of albums sold and hundreds of shows performed throughout his career, Paul van Dyk has truly positioned himself as one of the most accomplished performers ever.
Today, he’s announced a forthcoming album, From Then On, which is set to be released on October 20th on his own label, VANDIT Records. From Then On will be his first album in almost three years, following up 2015’s The Politics of Dancing 3. This is the first album that Paul van Dyk has released since he fell through a faulty stage set-up last year at a festival appearance in The Netherlands, which almost resulted in fatal injuries. Fortunately, thanks to months of recuperation and therapy, Paul van Dyk was able to make a full recovery.
According to the press release, the tracks on From Then On were made in the months following his recovery. The album is supposedly the most personal collection of songs that van Dyk has thus far released in his career. There was no A&R on the record, as van Dyk himself had total creative control of the process.
In addition to a new album, van Dyk has also revealed that he will be premiering a new show concept, ‘AEON by Paul van Dyk‘. It’s unclear how exactly the new show will differ from his old shows, but van Dyk himself had some words to share about the new concept below:
“I am incredibly excited to introduce ‘AEON by Paul van Dyk’ to my fans. Music has a distinct ability to take people away from their problems and relieve anxiety and stress, and this is the feeling we are trying to enhance with this new show concept. This intensified experience of sights, sounds and sensations will be our next level of entertainment. Paired with music of my upcoming album ‘From Then On’, it’s going to be a celebration of trance, life and unity.”
