Whenever rumors of big collaborations begin to swirl, our imaginations can’t help but run wild with what we might hear. Well, it seems as though our imaginations need running shoes.
RL Grime, who is currently touring Australia, has teased the possibility of working with Australian superstar, Flume. RL Grime recently shared a mash-up of his 2016 single ‘Aurora’ with Flume’s ‘Never Be Like You’ featuring Kai on Soundcloud. Naturally, the speculation began to circulate.
Grime, speaking with triple j Breakfast, said a collab with Flume is on the radar. It should be a bit easier now that Flume has moved to Los Angeles, RL Grime’s permanent home.
“I’ve been good friends with him for a long time, four, five years now. I hope we do something together soon. He just moved to L.A. and we’ve been chatting a bunch about working together, so hopefully.”
RL Grime still has a couple more stops on his Aussie tour and with the idea clearly in the minds of the two producers, it’s a perfect opportunity to explore sounds and ideas.
One can only imagine what the two powerhouses could produce together. RL Grime’s hard hitting trap mixed with sweet Flume harmonies could be exactly the contrast that the EDM industry needs.
