KYGO Premieres Stole The Show Documentary Screening In NYC!
In 2014, Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll was an aspiring DJ remixing tracks for Soundcloud in his dorm room, releasing remixes for hits like Marvin Gaye‘s “Sexual Healing“, Ellie Goulding‘s “High For This” and Ed Sheeran‘s “I See Fire” but it wasn’t until he decided to try his hand at LE7ELS’ “Miami 82” remix contest that changed his life overnight.
Three years later, the aspiring DJ is now established as KYGO, the tropical house phenomenon that he is today, producing hits with artists such as Parson James, Kodaline, Maty Noyes, Foxes, John Legend, Ellie Goulding and even Pop Superstar, Selena Gomez.
The Norwegian producer spoke on how he handled everything coming at him all at once, stating, “Definitely, from time to time, I’ve been thinking, ‘this is going so fast”,”I wish it could slow down a little bit, so I can actually breathe for a moment.”
And what better way for him to take a moment and do just that?
Create a documentary.
Suitably titled Stole the Show after the Parson James-featuring hit that catapulted him to fame, the documentary premiered in NYC on July 25th at the Lower East Side’s The Metrograph with fellow music stars, executives, and celebrities, taking us into the world of KYGO, from his beginnings to his career-defining performance at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center last year.
The Documentary also features interviews with fellow dance music giants like Martin Garrix and Steve Aoki along with bites from Bono and Kygo’s own parents and also features an exclusive look into on the creative process that has led Kygo to hits like 2015’s “Firestone” and beautiful pop Selena Gomez collaboration “It Ain’t Me.”
