Nile Rodgers has had major success in his life, but he has also had extreme difficulties. The artist performed at Glastonbury on Sunday and used some of his set time to open up about his prostate cancer diagnosis and his nearly three-year long battle. Rodgers stated:
“My doctors told me I was suffering from extremely aggressive cancer and that I needed to go home and get my affairs in order… Well, I happened to get a phone call from two French guys called Daft Punk and a gentleman named Pharrell Williams and we got together and wrote this song called ‘Get Lucky.’“
The song went on to become the chart-topping hit that we know and love. His work with Daft Punk also led him to three Grammy awards.
