Lane 8 & Kidnap Kid – Aba (Yotto Remix)
Yotto, born as Otto Yliperttula, is a 30-year-old Finnish DJ and producer that is currently signed to Above & Beyond’s Anjunadeep label for deep house releases. He is known for his unique approach towards remixing – he combines different styles of house music as well as electronica to create his own blend of darker and deeper house sounds. Some of his most revered tracks include “Fire Walk” (released in 2016 and charted to No.1 on Beatport) and “Cooper’s Cup” and “Song From The Sun”, just to name a few. He now brings you his darker take on Lane 8 and Kidnap Kid‘s collaborative track “Aba“.
Right from the start, the remix establishes itself with a more aggressive percussive entry along with a fatter and darker bass synth. Yotto gradually evolves the drums into a more techno inspired pattern that works perfectly with the syncopated vocal sample. The remix is able to preserve the uniqueness of the original while also simultaneously providing a completely different soundscape. This remix is a perfect example of what makes Yotto so unique as a producer – he’s able to add his own flavor in, and thereby only enhancing the original track.
