What do you do after gaining worldwide success as a rapper, singer, song writer, record producer/executive, and DJ? If you’re Diplo, you become a model! At 38 years old, the American jack-of-all-trades has signed with Next Model Management, a modeling agency who also works with models like Kate Upton and Anna Cleveland. Why now? He “just always wanted to be a supermodel.” The agency told Women’s Wear Daily that the signing was “inevitable” now that the creative worlds of art, fashion, and music are coming closer together.
With an Instagram page of over 3.6 million followers, Diplo is in some ways a Renaissance man of today’s entertainment world. He has gone from working with M.I.A. on her breakthrough album Paper Planes, to collaborating with other great DJs to make Major Lazer and Jack Ü, along with other innumerable collaborations with big artists like Shakira, No Doubt, and Snoop Dogg, and even working as a producer in Beyonce’s Lemonade album. If that all wasn’t enough, he’s also a beloved father of two and is based in Los Angeles, California.
So be ready to see Diplo on the big billboards, or at least more than you already did.
