The BPM festival Is heading to Europe for the first time ever and will take place at Praia da Rocha, Portugal from September 14th to September 17th. Most people in the dance community had heard about the tragic events at the last BPM festival in Mexico, where there was a shooting leaving 5 people dead and 15 injured. It was said to be gang related. After that the city’s mayor banned the BPM festival from taking place there citing it was the reason the shooting happened, even though Mexico is one of the most corrupt nations in the world and Political corruption is running rampant there more than anywhere else. The mayor’s motives are questionable.
BPM won’t let that bring them down though an they have decided to hold an event in Portugal. Taking place in the coastal region of Algarve it is sure to be a great setting. Lineup details are not out yet but below you can check out a trailer for the festival.
