Tomorrowland joined the trend in massive festivals and negotiated a contract with the Provincial Council of Antwerp, Belgium. Did we mention that this agreement lasts until 2033. That’s 16 years of double-weekend festivals!
The parent company, ID&T, will pay €630,000 to use the land each year.
“But it does not have to do with the money,” said the mayor of Boom, “Tomorrowland put our town on the map.” The event pushed an economic upturn for the community and made the area internationally known. The council stresses that they will prioritize the interests of their citizens and they want to hear any concerns from the locals. The contract can be cancelled at any point in time and it will be evaluated each year.
