More than half a decade has passed since Incubus‘ last full-length album release. Earlier this year, the iconic band announced their eighth album, titled 8. Now, Incubus front-man, Brandon Boyd, has let slip that dubstep legend, Sonny Moore, better known as Skrillex, will not just be featured on one of the album’s track, but will have a larger role as co-producer on several songs. He had originally only been tagged to produce the track “Familiar Faces”.
Moore impressed band members by making drastic changes to the song and they were excited to offer a more significant role in editing other tracks on the album. Boyd told media:
“We kind of, just in a very organic way, thought, ‘Hey maybe we should address a couple of other songs that we thought could use some changing in some way,'” Boyd said. “We just had no idea and we just ended up going through the entire album.”
Skrillex ended up spending two weeks in the studio working on 8. The album will be released on April 21st.
