Ladies and gentlemen, we are living in a revolutionary time. With the recent legalization of Marijuana in California, we’ve heard rumors of Mary Jane possibly making appearances (legally) at some of California’s biggest venues this coming festival season and the word is out that next month, Coachella attendees will be able to experience what may be just the beginning for festivals in the future.
WeedMaps, the largest and most comprehensive marijuana directory app, is teaming up with marketing firm Talent Resources to offer VIP attendees a “Marijuana Oasis” that will include two grow houses and a multitude of different vendors promoting their various strains and weed infused goodies, which are said to all be free of charge thanks to GenX, Brass Knuckle and West Coast Cure. Although the same rules still apply that no drugs are allowed on festival grounds, attendees now have a place to escape the heat, light up a joint (or two) and enjoy the perks of legalized marijuana just down the road from the venue.
The legalization of marijuana has opened the door to endless possibilities for festivals both on an economic and evolutionary scale. As companies and industries begin to take advantage of the major profit behind legalized marijuana distribution, we can only hope that festival venders will begin to do the same. Although the time has not yet come where festival goers can freely light one up as they groove in the Sahara Tent, it’s not that far fetched to envision in the near future.
