If there was going to be an electronic song in M Night Shyamalan’s new movie Split, it seems almost too fitting that it would be a single from Snails. Creator of “Vomitstep“, Snails has been playing by his own rules, fusing electro dub and wubs you can only define as “slimy”. ‘FROGBASS‘ is no exception and fits in perfectly with the hysteria occurring inside the main characters mind.
Split, the story of a man suffering from dissociative identity disorder, is sure to have all the twists and turns expected from a Shyamalan film. Sometimes music can tell a story better than dialogue; ‘FROGBASS’ and actor James McAvoys dancing gives some insight to the frenzy that surfaces when balancing 23 different personalities inside one body. For fans of Snails and psychological thrillers alike, this was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. You can watch on this cellphone recorded clip, but nothing compares to seeing the whole film and how Vomitstep fits into it.
