Whether you know her through her chart topping collabs with The Chainsmokers, Justin Bieber, Skrillex or her original work, singer/songwriter Halsey has contributed her undeniably recognizable voice to some of the best in recent electronic music.  She has had an extremely successful year, regardless of the fact that she has been battling endometriosis, a condition that harms the female reproductive system, which can cause long-term and severe lower abdominal pain.  Almost exactly a year after officially being diagnosed with the disease that she has struggled with for years, she was relieved to finally receive a surgery to help with the pain.
The 22 year old’s energy and charisma on stage is unmatchable, which she showcased during her VMA’s performance with The Chainsmokers even after opening up about her disease. Refusing to let this hinder her work, instead she has been using her popularity as a tool to help educate others and forge a conversation about a disease plagued with misconceptions. Never being one to shy away from an open line of communication with her fans, she shared an Instagram with a heartwarming post-surgery photo updating her fans on this next step in her battle. Through her social media platforms she has been inspiring and empowering women living with endometriosis and other conditions to not let it stop them from living a full life. Writing, “If you suffer from chronic pain or a debilitating disease please know that I have found time to live a crazy, wild, rewarding life AND balance my treatment and I hope so much in my heart that you can too.”
Halsey, we wish you a fast and speedy recovery, and only the best for this next chapter in your life and career! #Endowarrior
