The music industry is always changing and no one can predict the path it’s going to take. Due to recent success with the eligibility of streamed music, the Grammys will be considering SoundCloud uploads for the 2018 awards.
One successful push towards this movement by Chance The Rapper has to be noted as a leading cause to this transition. Since the Recording Academy changed the eligibility requirements, Chance has been nominated seven times for the ceremony on February 12th (Beyonce lead with nine nominations).

Although this is not confirmed, Chance could be giving us hope for the future. What could this mean for the future of SoundCloud? The company has not been doing well, but with Google and other companies looking in their direction, we could see a long-awaited comeback by the beloved platform. Small-time artists can rejoice and celebrate as this is becoming more of a reality.
