New York City’s favorite festival is back again with another lineup filled to the brim with talent. Massive headliners include Phoenix, Tool, Chance the Rapper, Flume and Lorde among many other names that are also highly anticipated. Tickets for the 3-day event go on sale Friday, January 6 at 12pm EST.
Governors Ball is known to be a multi-genre festival, putting a wide range of music on the bill to attract a diverse crowd of fans. However, it seems that this years lineup is exceedingly lacking an EDM presence. Flume, Marshmello, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Gryffin and Jenaux are among the few who made the cut. Electronic artists seem to be dwindling with each passing year on the Governors Ball lineup. Given the rising popularity of dance music in the mainstream music circuit, it seems a bit odd to leave out many of the successful artists and DJs that would have fit onto the bill with ease.
