Year after year, Firefly Music Festival plans to entertain people of all sorts of life. With past artists like Pretty Lights, Paul McCartney, Outkast and Kendrick Lamar, the lineup released this morning held no surprise. This year booked electronic acts like Flume, Dillon Francis, Galantis, Snakehips and Benny Benassi. We’re happy to see that Benassi plans to get back on the saddle in time for the fest after a devastating skiing accident on Tuesday night. To learn more, check out our article on the incident here. Rappers and bands like Chance the Rapper, Twenty One Pilots, Bob Dylan (you heard that right), Busta Rhymes, Glass Animals and Miike Snow  will join the dj’s for a warm June weekend in Delaware.
The new lineup, which was curated by fans, left The Festive Owl with a salty taste in their mouth.
The Festive Owl has every right to this reaction since the amount of electronic music is lacking. That being said, Firefly is showing off the talent in other genres a bit more this year. It’s not necessarily a bad move. Past lineups have showcased incredible electronic acts. The festival likes to stay diversified and that’s a value we can all appreciate.
