Daft Punk is coming out of hiding again for another performance and this time, it will be with The Weeknd at the Grammys. The award ceremony is set to take place at the Staples Center in LA on February 12th.
Daft Punk collaborated with The Weeknd for two tracks, “Starboy” and “I Feel It Coming”, on his latest album. Since the album was released after the Grammy deadline, it could not be nominated for an award in 2017. However, The Weeknd is nominated as a contributor to Beyonce’s Lemonade.
The last major performance by Daft Punk was at the 2014 Grammys, where they came out with Pharell, Stevie Wonder and Nile Rodgers. They also took home a bunch of awards that night, including the distinguished ‘Album of the Year’ honors. Also, the last major tour Daft Punk did was in 2007 and now that it is 2017, fans are dying to find out if the guys will stick with their tradition of doing a tour every 10 years. Maybe this performance will also bring an announcement? We shall see.
