‘World of Warcraft’ Pays Homage to Porter Robinson & Eric Prydz

Warcraft

Electronic music and video games have always been one of the entertainment industry’s strongest power couples. Forza, a popular racing game series, has included many notable artists on their games such as Nero, Skrillex, Justice and more. Now, World of Warcraft has given more ground to this statement through their latest expansion.

The new game features pieces of armor explicitly named after Porter Robinson and Eric Prydz, showing Blizzard Entertainment‘s love for the two astounding producers. Prydz received a shoutout from the notorious game producer through the neckpiece ‘Prydaz, Xavaric’s Magnum Opus’. The use of his moniker Pryda and naming of his latest album Opus is a strong indicator that the game creators were trying to pay tribute to this legendary producer.

Porter Robinson also receives tribute from the gaming mogul. A legendary chest piece named ‘Ekowraith, Creator of Worlds’ directly pays homage to the Worlds producer when he made music under the moniker Ekowraith. During this stage of his career, he was heavily influenced by Dance Dance Revolution as can be seen in songs such as “Back In The Game“. The armor description even quotes a direct line from “Fellow Feeling”.

Unison Spaulders is yet another piece of armor that pays tribute to the young Worlds producer. It references Porter’s “Unison” from his debut EP Spitfire and includes lyrics that he uses consistently in his live show. Warcraft
