Miami Music Week Will Now Feature Medical Marijuana

Thanks to the most recent election, the state of Florida just passed Amendment 2, also known as the Florida Right to Medical Marijuana Initiative. It won by 71% in favor of the citizen initiated state constitutional amendment to allow medical cannabis in Florida.

So if you are a dance music fan in Florida, we have some cool news for you. Every year in March, Miami Music Week takes over the city for six days straight. The almost week long party is scattered in venues across the city, housing some of dance music’s finest. Steve Aioki’s brand Dim Mak who has been heavily involved with the festival tweeted this to fans the day the amendment passed:

This tweet heightens the anticipation for the vent which doesn’t happen until next spring. Even though Florida’s amendment 2 legalizes marijuana for medical purposes, it is still a major change that will affect the use of it in public. I guess we can say that Miami Music Week 2017 will have an interesting new appeal for attendees.

It’s also worth noting that Nevada (home of Electric Daisy Carnival, Life Is Beautiful and more) and California (home of Coachella as well as major HARD and Insomniac festivals) legalized the recreational use of marijuana.
