We’re utterly heartbroken to share yet another tragedy in the club scene in which our beloved music industry thrives: a second Florida nightclub shooting happened yesterday, resulting in two dead and 16 injured.
The attacked happened on July 25th at approximately 12:30am in Fort Meyers at a club known as Club Blu. The club was hosting an all-ages event that night called “Swimsuit Glow Party.” Those who lost their lives were 18-year-old Ste’fan Strawder and 14-year-old Sean Archilles, and victims of the attack were between 12 and 27 years old.
Police have arrested three suspects, but made it clear that the shooting was “not an act of terror.”
According to the club’s Facebook page, the shooting happened as the event ended and parents were picking up their children. The event was aiming to create a safe environment for kids of all ages to have fun.
This heartbreaking event comes only six weeks after a gunman attacked a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, killing 49 people.
We send our thoughts and best wishes to the victims and their families.
