Anyone who has ever been to an Insomniac event knows that the company goes all out in making sure that the festival experience is an unforgettable one thriving in full effect. Behind every successful company there are tons of dedicated, hard-working individuals who do their best to keep that success going strong. Leading this group is none other than Insomniac’s founder, and also Billboard’s Dance Executive of the Year, Pasquale Rotella.
A man who has set the standard for electronic music festivals around the world, Rotella has been a player in the EDM game since its early developing stages. He helped the scene blossom from an underground subculture into a worldwide phenomenon. Insomniac’s crown jewel, the Electric Daisy Carnival, is held annually at Las Vegas, New York, Mexico and Brazil, and in 2017 they are looking to expand into Japan and India. With EDC’s 20th anniversary celebration in Las Vegas right around the corner, it is no surprise that Rotella’s career has been nothing short of excellent.
In an interview with Billboard on the state of EDM, Rotella discusses the relative standing of SFX, Insomniac’s world expansion, why dance music events are completely safe and why you can never be too old to rave. Check out the full article at Billboard and get ready for the celebration of a lifetime next weekend at EDC Las Vegas, June 17-19.
