It’s no shocker that Diplo has had at least a couple of hits in the past year. In 2015, he produced the two biggest electronic dance music tracks of the year, “Lean On” as Major Lazer alongside DJ Snake and “Where Are Ü Now” as part of Jack Ü alongside Skrillex. Now, he’s hoping to repeat his success by bringing the two vocalists from each track, MØ and Justin Bieber respectively, together to form “Cold Waters” the first single off Major Lazer’s next LP.
We already knew Diplo and Bieber had something brewing a few weeks back through some quick Tweet exchanges. It wasn’t until his latest episode of Lazer Sound on Beats 1 where Diplo confirmed the news. Though there isn’t an official release date for the track or the new LP, he said the first single will be “coming up in a couple of weeks.” Of course, all future tracks, including “Cold Waters,” will debut on the radio show.
