L.A.’s weekly experimental hip-hop and electronic music club night, Low End Theory, was founded in 2006 by Grammy-nominated mixer, mastering engineer, producer and Alpha Pup Records label head, Daddy Kev. Since its inception, Low End Theory has transformed into the epicenter for L.A.’s instrumental hip-hop scene and has become one of the most influential venues for the beat music culture. After recently celebrating 500 consecutive weeks as hosts of the famed club night, Low End Theory is gearing up for their third annual festival. On Saturday, July 23rd the Low End Theory Festival will congregate some of the biggest names in today’s beat scene at Shrine Expo Hall & Grounds for a full day of inspirational, underground and bass heavy sounds.
This year’s lineup features historic headliners Ghostface & Raekwon, prominent members of the Wu-Tang Clan, and Invisibl Skratch Piklz, an almost 30 year old group comprised of pioneering turntablists and considered to be the world’s most influential DJ crew. Joining these two highly influential and reputable headlining acts on the Low End Theory Festival lineup are Hippie Sabotage, MixedByAli, Daedelus, Prefuse 73, Jonwayne, Gonjasufi, Teebs, Milo, Samiyam, Dibiase, Sosupersam, Great Dane, Taylor McFerrin, Sonnymoon, Sahtyre, Eureka the Butcher, Shiva, Taso and Linafornia, plus Low End Theory residents Daddy Kev, Nobody, The Gaslamp Killer & D-Styles.
