Ever since it was revealed that Carl Cox & Richie Hawtin would be leaving the legendary Space Ibiza rumors have been stirring about the future of the mega-club. New information has finally been revealed and Abel Matutes Prats, the CEO of Palladium Hotel Group (who runs Ushuaïa) says it will be staying as a nightclub. This confirms the statement Cox made and quiets any rumor of it turning into a shopping center as some media outlets have reported.
Mr. Prats said to Diario de Ibiza:
“Obviously we want to keep it as a disco, but also want to dedicate it to the audience in which we are now focusing, which will be complementary to Ushuaïa.”
If you haven’t had the luck to enjoy the treasures of Space Ibiza as of yet, take a trip to Ibiza this summer to see Carl Cox before its too late. We can expect the new version of the club to be more VIP-centric (sigh) when it opens in summer 2017.
