NextVR, a Laguna Beach founded technology company, focuses on the delivery of live and on-demand VR (Virtual Reality) experiences. NextVR states on their website that they have “developed a custom lens-to-lens system for capturing and delivering live and on-demand virtual reality experiences in true broadcast quality.”
NextVR has been dominating the sporting events market and now are expanding to live VR concerts and they’ve recently partnered with Live Nation to live stream an immense amount of concerts. They’ve raised $35.5 million in their series A and have huge companies backing them such as Comcast Ventures and Time Warner Investments; they’ve also partnered with Fox Sports to broadcast live sporting events. As NextVR is joining a fresh new market, they’ve stated that they will be upgrading their “proprietary 3D VR audio platform” so as to allow for the best sound experience.
The NextVR platform is currently available on the GearVR but they are planning on supporting new platforms in the near future!
