deadmau5 and his pal Steve Duda are back at it again with the second part in their tutorial series in which they deconstruct the mastering and routing of deadmau5’s “Imaginary Friends”.

In the newest video, deadmau5 and Steve begin talking about the different methods and tools used for mastering and compressing and deadmau5 explains how’s there no “magical” piece of software used for mastering to make the track sound fatter.
At 9:30 in the video, deadmau5’s signature pluck is revealed as just “a sawtooth wave with filter and envelope on it”.
