In the past three days, deadmau5 has uploaded 6 tracks to his SoundCloud that seem to boastingly showcase his remarkable abilities and the full range of his versatility. His newest upload “Analogical” is soaringly beautiful, gradually building to sheer euphoria and leaving his fan base starving for the track’s completion. He also let his fans into his creative process by posting three version of the same song, as “Cat Thruster,” “Cat Thruster System” and “Diesel Powered Cat Thruster” showcase the track’s evolution in a 24 hour time span. He even teased a potential collaboration with The Weeknd, tweeting out an offer for the pop icon to provide his silky smooth vocals on the track.
Joel also dropped the refreshingly unique “Whelk Then,” which immerses the listener into an entrancingly spacey ambience. Here, deadmau5 went in a completely different direction and demonstrated both his range and his raw production talent. Finally, deadmau5 fittingly started this upload spree with a troll, as the blatantly titled “Sellout” takes a stab at the rising trends within electronic music. The song features a classic deadmau5 progressive house build before exploding into a growling drop that impressively showcases Joel’s unique ability to make excellent versions of the music he mocks. He has even done this in the past with Mau5trap member Steve Duda, as their side project Blue Screen of Death satirized electronic music with a formulaic track that hit the number one spot on Beatport.
