Bingo Players – Toms Diner (2016 Rework)
Toms Diner has somewhat of a storied legacy. The original track, by Suzanne Vega, is a remarkably simple cut, but has managed to stand the test of time, and was even used in the developmental process of creating the MP3 audio compression format. Interestingly, the track is having a seemingly random resurgence recently, with Bingo Players dropping their take on the track in 2009, and just last year Giorgio Moroder teamed up with Britney Spears to remix it. Now, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Bingo Players, Maarten Hoogstraten dropped a reworked version of “Toms Diner,” giving fans a festival-ready banger. Out now, from Spinnin and Hysteria, “Toms Diner” prominiently features the instantly recognizable “Da da da duh, doo da-doo doo” refrain from the original track, and builds to an electro influenced, slightly future drop. Check out a preview of the track below and stay tuned for more on Bingo Players’ forthcoming anniversary EP!
