There are a few artists with a brand so strong and a following so loyal that their co-sign can truly help a song take off. Kaskade is one of those artists. The LA-based, Grammy-nominated star founded his Arkade imprint to release music from some of the most talented artists in the music industry, as well as use it as a platform to help others discover new music. The most impressive part is that he’s accomplished this feat in era of dance music where progressive and big room house have reached a saturation point in the market. Releases on Kaskade’s Arkade label aren’t your typical main stage releases, rather they’re unique and interesting in a way that makes you want to dive deeper.
The latest release from Arkade comes courtesy of Project 46 and BYNON, who have teamed up on their deep house anthem, “Castles”. The track opens with a hauntingly beautiful piano melody laid down underneath an ethereal female vocal that guides the track through subtle string arrangements before peeling back to the curtain to reveal light-hearted synth melodies and a bubbly bass line.
