We are officially days away from the start of the 2016 festival season, as Miami Music Week is underway, leading up to Ultra. With festival season right around the corner, promoters and organizers have gradually started to unveil headliners and undercards for 2016 events, leaving potential attendees and audiences with the task of sitting, researching and critiquing all the data in order to determine the perfect festivals for their musical excursions.
After the inaugural Bestival Toronto was met with mixed reactions – heaps of praise matched with complaints stemming from the obscenely long wait times for the ferry – this year’s rendition of the event aims to eliminate some of the waiting by moving from the Toronto Islands to Woodbine Park. Since the announcement of headliners The Cure and Tame Impala, the UK-spinoff event will feature an undercard filled with incredible artists such as Porter Robinson, Madeon, Jamie xx and ODESZA, while highlighting prominent Canadian talent such as Art Department and Shaun Frank.
With last year’s lineup and festivities drawing so much critical acclaim, the change in venue and impressive lineup should ensure that Bestival remains a highlight for the Canadian festival season. Bestival runs June 11th-12th in Toronto, Ontario, and you may purchase tickets here.
