It’s no surprise the king of the “Jungle Terror” is releasing his next EP, The Free and Rebellious, under the OWSLA imprint. In just the last few weeks, Wiwek sped up beats with OWSLA alum Valentino Khan on “Tropicana,” and had “Rebels” featuring Audiobullys included on the label’s Worldwide Broadcast Compilation. The Dutch producer was actually in communication with head honcho Skrillex since 2014 about exploring the idea of producing with the label. According to an interview done with Dancing Astronaut, Sonny helped with the production for the EP when he paired Wiwek with Sirah on “Stop Me” and was responsible for the initial composition on “Killa,” one of the most hyped IDs of last year. Sonny sent over a “crazy trap beat concept, asking if [Wiwek] could do a drop lead over it.”
Other collaborators on The Free and Rebellious includes Yellow Claw, Big Freedia, Elliphant, and Lil Debbie. The EP will be available for pre-order on February 5 and will officially release on February 26.
