Ever since dropping their debut collaborative album, Diplo and Skrillex have cemented their positions as two of the biggest forces in not only the electronic scene, but also the entire music industry as a whole. Clearly, their hard work has paid off, as Jack Ü received two Grammy nominations back in December. One of them is for ‘Best Dance/Electronic Album’ and the other is ‘Best Dance Recording’ for the LP’s most successful single “Where Are Ü Now” featuring Justin Bieber. Now, it has been revealed that the powerhouse trio will be performing together at ceremony, which is now less than a week away.
This is a big step for electronic music, as the genre is rarely represented during the main telecast. The dance/electronic awards are typically presented during the pre-telecast, which can be streamed online. Jack Ü is in pretty good company though, as past electronic music performers include Daft Punk, deadmau5 and David Guetta. Adele, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga and Ellie Goulding will also be performing during the 58th edition of the Grammy Awards. The ceremony will take place on February 15th in Los Angeles and can be seen on CBS.
