Elliphant- Spoon Me (ft. Skrillex)
While Skrillex began his career as the poster boy for dubstep, his recent productions have been all over the musical spectrum. He has treated his fans to some uncharacteristically chilled-out tracks, such as his collaborative remix of “Stranger” with Tennyson and White Sea, and his beautiful original, “Pretty Bye Bye“. This does not mean Skrillex has softened up, as he has also dropped some absolute bangers such as his long awaited “Red Lips” remix and his flip of Torro Torro’s “Make A Move“. His newest project sees him producing for the talented Elliphant, as he contributes to her sophomore album Living Life Golden, which is set to be released this Friday, February 26th. The two have worked together in the past on the explosive “Only Getting Younger,” and have teamed up here to give us their latest collaboration entitled, “Spoon Me“.
“Spoon Me” begins with a calmingly entrancing beat that is brilliantly punctuated by Elliphant’s infectiously catchy reggae-inspired vocals. The track breaks down with a silky smooth future bass beat, proving once again that Skrillex can produce excellent music in an unlimited variety of sounds and styles. While their last collaboration certainly featured a different side to Skrillex, “Spoon Me” is equally likely to impress its audience.
