Remember TIDAL – The streaming service with aspirations of glory that ended up becoming the joke of the music world? Well, it’s still around and even though you may have forgotten about it you should probably check you credit card statement to make sure they forgot you too. This week former TIDAL users who had canceled their accounts noticed that they were getting charged $20 by the service for seemingly no reason.
Later, TIDAL issued an email apologizing to its former users who had their accounts reactivated and charged. It appears to have been an accident of some kind, but it’s certainly a bit scary that such a thing could happen in the first place. Hopefully you were smart enough to steer clear of the service in the first place, but if not go ahead and check to make sure you didn’t get any unrecognized charges. Not exactly the best way to be reminded of the streaming service you probably had long since forgot.
