HI-LO – Ghosts feat. Matthew Koma
With his alias finally uncovered, future house maestro Oliver Heldens has taken to producing and releasing singles under the moniker HI-LO to unveil some of his rougher, grittier tracks. Having seen his rise to prominence tied to the growth of the futuristic/deep house genre in mainstream electronic dance music, it can be difficult for the Dutch star to tweak and experiment with his signature sound. Alas, HI-LO seems to serve as his creative outlet, allowing him to produce without the pressures of his established reputation. As his latest single clearly demonstrates, releasing under an alter ego doesn’t have to mean a drop in production quality.
Collaborating with well-known electronic music vocalist Matthew Koma, ‘Ghosts’ displays a more raw and edgy sound. With a groovy, energetic style well-accompanied by Koma’s haunting vocals, the tune establishes HI-LO as a consistent producer of innovative, quality music, further growing and developing the genre established by his alter ego.
