Ben Klock Receives Essential Mix Of The Year Award

Being able to say you’ve had a slot on the most recognized two-hour radio show in electronic music is a rare feat, but earning Essential Mix of the Year honors is an even more coveted selection that every musician strives for when compiling their showcase. This years’ recipient is none other than techno stalwart and Berghain resident Ben Klock.

It’s no surprise that the shift in the powers happened in 2015; with deep house becoming quickly saturated with genres claiming to ‘deep house’, the underground went deeper. Runner up Tales of Us and another contender Maceo Plex make three out of five Essential Mix candidates that are techno based. Nero and DJ EZ were the other two in the running with Lee Burridge, Claptone and a host of others that were stand outs in 2015.
